»Posted by on Jul 5, 2019 in Painting | 0 comments

Painting a wall can become a little bit too much at times. It looks like self-explanatory but, if you are not careful you might end up with a pretty bad paint job. For the amount of effort you had to put into the acrylic latex painting, you want satisfactory results at the end of the job.

So, if you like to know how to do that in an easy way here is a simplified version in the steps of painting a wall.

1. GIVE YOUR TIME FOR PREP WORK

It might not seem much and for you, it might even look like it doesn’t really have any purpose. However, prep work for any paint job may it be on the walls or on canvass is important. This is because prep work acts as the foundation of which the paint will adhere to. It will also make the whole process a lot easier to deal with.

– Clean up the wall with any dirt and debris

– Cover your things or move them out of the room.

– Prepare your materials for the paint job.

2. LAID OUT YOUR DROP CLOTH

This is an important step if you don’t want specks to be on your floor. It is a simple and easy step but it can really make a big difference at the end of the job. You just have to remember that you have to look out for this one as it can really make the floor a bit slippery.

3. COVER WITH PAINTERS TAPE

You should get a decent painter’s tape and cover the parts of the wall that you don’t want to get paint on. This means that that adjacent wall that you don’t want to have any paint on should be lined with painter’s tape.

IT’S TIME TO GET TO PAINTING:

4. PAINT A PRIMER ON YOUR WALL

If you want really great results on your wall, get a primer and have it all over your walls. It can make any color pop and come out a lot better than what you would expect. You don’t have to put too many coats on the wall either because of the primer.

5. PAINTBRUSH FOR GAPS

Rollers are great for painting big spaces but, for the gaps in the walls, you should make sure to use a paintbrush. You have a lot more control with a paintbrush so, that should be something for you to consider all in all.

6. DON’T FORGET TO MIX THOROUGHLY

When you use the paint with colors already do not forget to mix. You should do it thoroughly so, you can be sure that the entire room or wall will have the same hue all throughout. A well-blended paint will result in better coverage on the wall itself and also a better result.

All in all, you have to remember that painting a room is just another creative but technical job. If you want a professional finish you should follow things well.
